Event & venue security

Weddings, quinceañeras, birthdays and baby showers, worked from the first guest to the last car. Carl checks I.D.s at the door, watches the room and walks people out at the end of the night, from Fairfield across the Bay Area.

What goes wrong when nobody at the door is visible

Most events do not fall apart in the middle. They fall apart at the edges: a stranger who walks in behind a delivery, an argument at the door that nobody owns, a guest who has had too much and is still making decisions, a parking lot at the end of the night with the lights low and a lot of people looking for their cars.

Carl Vinson has worked in the security industry for more than 30 years, and his rule is printed on his own services page: you are paying for our presence, security is free. An officer people can see at the entrance changes how the room behaves before anything happens. The guests relax, and the people who came to cause trouble decide to go somewhere else.

That is the whole reason to hire a licensed officer for a wedding, a quinceañera or a party in Fairfield, Vacaville or Oakland. You are not buying a confrontation. You are buying a night where the host gets to be with their family.

How Carl works a detail, from the first call to the last car

It starts with the free 15-minute consultation. Carl asks about the date, the venue, the guest count and what worries you. One family met him at a venue they ended up not choosing and booked him anyway, then booked him more than a year out so they would be on his schedule. They wrote that he was easy to reach for months, weeks and days before the event.

On the night he arrives early and stays until the very end. At the door he checks I.D.s when the client wants that, and he does pat downs and purse searches when the client asks for them. Curtis H. wrote on the testimonials page that Carl took the lead role, checked I.D.s at the door all night and handled the searches. Kia Z. described the same thing from the host side: Carl and his partner watching the door and monitoring the event, and the entire night going as smooth as they could have hoped.

When the night is over he does not clock out at the exit. Jackie D., who hired him for a film shoot in Oakland, wrote that his large presence was enough to deter any trouble and that at the end of the night he walked each of them to their cars.

The kinds of events on the list

The list is the owner's own. Weddings, birthdays and baby showers. Quinceañeras: Victor Pimentel hired Made Man Protection for his sister's and wrote that the guards were professional, attentive and on point all night. Fraternity and sorority functions, collegiate tailgate parties, club V.I.P. and concert backstage. Party buses, churches and funerals. Sporting events and private functions of every size.

Size does not scare him. Jennifer Mutz hired Carl for a young adult event with several hundred attendees and wrote that he is professional, respectful and relates well to both youth and adults. That matters at a quinceañera, where the guest list runs from grandparents to teenagers, and at a church or a funeral, where the officer has to be present and quiet at the same time.

Renee Converse has used Made Man Protection for wedding and venue security for many years and calls Carl her first call. If your event is not named above, ask. The full list of posts is on the services page.

Booking, pricing and travel

Security is not sold at a flat rate. The price depends on the event, the occupancy, the length of time and how many security officers it needs, so a baby shower with one officer and a several-hundred-person night with a team will not cost the same. Carl quotes the detail after the free consultation. The published answer on his FAQ says exactly that.

Made Man Protection travels. Carl recommends two weeks' notice for anywhere in Northern California. Services are by appointment only, from Fairfield and Solano County to the Bay Area. Payment for security work is by Zelle, Cash App or Venmo, and one client wrote that easy payment was part of why working with Carl was simple.

Carl is licensed and insured, with BSIS licence numbers 1685, 1731584 and 1010809 published in the footer. References are available on request after the consultation.

“Made Man Protection did an amazing job at my sister's quinceañera. The event went smoothly and the security guards were professional, attentive, and on point at all times throughout the night.” Victor Pimentel, Google review, 5 stars.
